Not quiet because babies are quiet… We all know they’re not. 😅 But quiet because so many of the biggest moments happen when nobody else is there. The early morning feeds before the sun comes up. The contact naps where you’re scared to move. The bedtime cuddles. The middle-of-the-night wake ups. The little victories that nobody claps for. The hard moments that nobody sees. There are days where the only adult I speak to is my husband when he gets home. And there are nights where it feels like the whole world is asleep except us. Motherhood can be incredibly beautiful. It can also feel incredibly lonely. One thing that’s helped me is remembering that while my house might feel quiet, there are thousands of other homes just like mine. Another mom is making a bottle. Another mom is breastfeeding. Another mom is pacing the nursery. Another mom is trapped under a contact nap. Another mom is wondering if she’s doing enough. Seeing those little dots on the map reminds me that these quiet moments aren’t just mine. They’re shared by moms all over the world. Different countries. Different babies. Different stories. But the same love. The same exhaustion. The same determination to keep showing up. So if today feels a little quiet, I hope you remember this. There are moms everywhere living the same beautiful, messy, ordinary moments right alongside you.
