First. Take a breath. I won’t BS you. It’s going to be hard. It’s going to hurt. It won’t be better tomorrow or next week. You will still stare at empty spaces and cry. Do it. Stay away from substances, they will only make things worse. Eating will feel IMPOSSIBLE. You will feel sick, my recommendation? Chicken broth protein shakes and stay hydrated. That’s the most important thing. I drank a lot of liquid iv. Take sick days from work. Treat this like you are sick. Put on your comfort show, even if it’s background noise. Sleep. A lot. Just nap and sleep. I am here. I will always be here. I have been exactly where you are. It will get easier, I promise. But take your time, work through it. Don’t rush or push yourself. Let the pain run its course just like you would any other illness. I have been exactly where you are. I know what you are going through. I know it’s hard. But know this: it’s not your fault. You are not too much. You are not unlovable. You are enough. You can do this, I am so proud of you for being brave. You cannot control what others do. These things had to constantly be told to me. I didn’t believe them either.
