FUEL TRUCK PULLS AWAY WITH HOSES STILL CONNECTED An Air China Boeing 747-8 was grounded at New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport after a refueling incident caused a significant fuel spill on the apron. The incident occurred on August 31 as the aircraft was being prepared to operate flight CA982 from New York (JFK) to Beijing (PEK). Video from the scene shows the refueling truck beginning to drive away while the hoses are still connected to the aircraft. As the truck moves forward, the hoses are pulled from the 747, causing fuel to spill onto the apron beneath the aircraft. Emergency crews responded to the scene to contain and clean up the spilled fuel. The aircraft involved was B-2486, a Boeing 747-8 operated by Air China. It had arrived at JFK from Beijing as flight CA981 and was scheduled to operate the return flight to Beijing as CA982. The aircraft was taken out of service for inspection following the incident, and flight CA982 was subsequently canceled. No injuries or fire were reported. The circumstances that led to the refueling truck moving while still connected to the aircraft have not yet been officially clarified. 🎥 Social media #AirChina #Boeing747 #JFKAirport #Aviation #GroundHandling
