I agree with you in that I think the Bible is just sometimes wrong and contradictory, but I grew up in an evangelical church and the idea often taught was that the Bible was “God breathed” and every word was essentially a direct word from God and therefore the entire thing must be accepted. My struggle has been what is the determiner for what should be taken and what shouldn’t? My church would say that my own judgement would contain “worldly” values and I would agree a bit in the sense that I don’t see the point of following an authority if I just pick and choose what I want to. I would love to hear your opinion on this, and I’d also like to hear about your personal faith if you have a video on that already I’d appreciate getting pointed to it. Thanks!

It’s worth mentioning; the paying attention/ teaching the family interpretation fits within modern Christianity. It puts women as the integral piece to raising children in faith. If Paul didn’t mean it that way, why isn’t Titus 1 and 1Tim 3 more inclusive, instead exclusive to women?

In Judges, there was a Prophet and Judge, Deborah who had the same authority as Joshua or Samuel. The same goes for Moses‘s sister Miriam, who was mentioned as being a prophet. If you’re saying that women can’t be Church leaders, your effectively question in God’s choices in the Old Testament.

No this is too simplistic. There are linguistic problems with the 1 Timothy passages. The two groups are not the same. One group (those supporting women in leadership) are tying to use exegesis and history to come to a clearer understanding of the language.

John Hagee sermons that don’t have a series of poster boards just don’t hit the same. 🤣

That’s one of the better views held by the Assemblies of God: that women should be and are allowed to be ordained just like men.
