I run a 15’ on a 75hp and it does fine. But before that I would run a 6’ on a 100hp and it would eat sheer pins but never twisted the yoke like that.

I'd bet that shear bolt didn't shear because it's a G5 bolt that bent instead of the actual shear bolt that would have saved the shaft.

you need a slip clutch, and ideally that bolt will never break. every year before you use it loosen off the springs and slip it for a bit to unsieze it. Will be the end of your problems

the 3 sided shaft is *meant* to be stronger than the old SHS type, but everyone I know in Aus runs either a shaft with clutch, or fits a clutch to the gearbox. that said tho, we're lazy and will mulch gum limbs upto ~70mm with a slasher 😆
