Buying lady bugs is a waste of money Friend: you can't have lady bugs without lady bug food, and diatomaceous earth kills all anthropods- bees, lady bugs, and beneficial predators. diatomaceous earth is organic. it's essentially powered chalk like sedimentary layer deposited billions of years ago. the soft powdery rock is the silicon, skeletal remains of ancient diatoms(microscopic sea creatures.) hence the name. DIATOMaceous EARTH.
