I still don't get grading. they only exist because it's easy money, Randy likely only made ace because he was broke and everyone in the Pokémon community just agreed to use it.

Reserving a cert makes the cert lose its entire value. The point of a cert is that it’s a random number to identify the card so when it does happen to be a cool cert number it’s special because it’s pure luck
