CarpeDiem :
Why do you make it an issue of "white colonialism"? This applies to all cultures, whether white or not. By your own reasoning, Islam could also be considered a form of cultural appropriation of Jewish culture, since it was not created by Jews or by people who had lived within Judaism, but by Arabs who took the culture of another people, arabized it, and turned it into their own religion that is, at times, even hostile toward the very people from whom they took that religion.
Consequently, by the same logic, it should be criticized for taking Jewish teachings out of their original context and "Arabizing" them without understanding the Jewish context from which they originated. And, as far as I'm aware, Arabs were not "white Westerners." lol. Why then don't you talk about Islam as "cultural appropriation " that have no respect for the people whose culture was stolen and decontextualized? Oh, maybe because they aren't white and from Western.
lsialm is an example to say that what you say is valid for all cultures, it is not a phenomenon only for white people, but you use double standards
