@newsnationnow: “She doesn’t come across as pure evil”: Elizabeth Siders’ attorney told Chris Cuomo his client is not the person she is portrayed to be, saying the 33-year-old Ohio mother “misses her children” after she and three others were arrested on child endangerment charges of her 16 children.

Why does the blame ALWAYS fall on the mother?? There are 2 parents. Why is it HER responsibility to clean up after other adults? Why is it on her everything concerning the kids? I love that her attorney reminded him that she was NOT the only adult in that house.

16 years of postpartum depression??? This woman needs help and compassion. Give her a chance to medically RECOVER and THEN make the judgements necessary to decide what is best for the family.

As much as I am disgusted by the environment those kids were in, there were 3 other adults. Elizabeth had 16 kids at her age. She was barely able to recover from her first pregnancy before getting pregnant again. She was either post partum or pregnant and no one was helping.

I guarantee you if she was given the opportunity to have children and raise them the right way she would’ve. There’s so much more to this story and she’s a victim too in my opinion… from 13 years old until now

"It is completely possible that Elizabeth normally and probably did want her children to be safe, but she literally didn't know the right way because her entire reality was warped. Her own defense attorney confirmed she has been continuously asking about the children’s welfare, which proves she cares, but she lacked the mental tools to protect them from that environment. Local reports from the Dollar General note that when she did come in, she wasn't allowed to talk, looked extremely thin, and her hygiene was poor—classic signs of extreme starvation and coercive control. We don't know the full truth behind her first pregnancy at 13; it very well could have been an abuse situation by someone in her own family or even Gary Senior, because what normal family encourages their adult son to take on that dad role for a child victim? Her parents claim they were pressured, but any real parent knows you fight tooth and nail before ever giving your kid away. Having 18 back-to-back pregnancies takes a horrific emotional and physical toll that completely depletes a woman's brain and autonomy. Between Stockholm Syndrome and total isolation, she likely had no idea how to get out, or if this nightmare was even abnormal. She is legally a perpetrator because of what the children suffered, but she was simultaneously a severely brainwashed victim who was never rescued."

She had her first child at 15. She is a victim. She herself probably doesn’t even realize it bc that’s all she’s known. To be in that situation during the period of life where your brain is literally still developing, when you are trying to form your sense of self, had to be psychologically detrimental. Who know what she endured before she was 15. Why was she married that young to begin with? There’s so much more to this.
