For context, we value the outdoors A LOT (think biking, running, hiking), walkability, and character. New builds give me the ick. MANASSAS: Absolutelty not. Too far away. No further questions. GREAT FALLS: Beautiful. Too much driving. Suburb galore. Close to a lot. Zero downtown or walkability. ALEXANDRIA: Charming. Hollin hills neighborhood is officially where I go to day dream. We walked to the pool, went on a run, metro hella close. I KNOW that no matter how beautiful of a home I buy in CO, or how many friends I have… they won’t replace what I’m looking for in VA: ✅ Family ✅ Diversity Here’s the massive problem though: we love the mountains in CO, the weather, the outdoors. My husband especially…. So now what? My goal is to save enough $$ to rent a $1.5M house in Hollin Hills by this time next year — July 2027. Live there for a year and then make our final consensus.
