I'm really struggling to understand why people thought she was 'still' a Detective. It was confirmed she left the police force when she was offered Love Island. As part of the Metropolitan Police Force you are not allowed leave to go on a reality tv show, with you're role remaining open. That would just be ridiculous.

I dont even believe she was a detective. firstly she's way too young and doesn't have enough experience. I know many that are detectives and its taken them years and experience to get to that position and its not that easy to be promoted.
