My instructor did a lesson in the snow, and I was able to use the same techniques when leaving a campsite with loose ground, so very glad some don’t cancel

Letting your learners bring their children is amazing! I passed my test and had to drive with a 1 year old & 3 year old alone the next day, with them screaming in the back, my nerves were already shot without the added stress. I wish I’d have learnt to drive with them before doing it alone 🙈

You let learners drive home after passing a test ? They won’t be covered by insurance

driving home after test invalidates insurance if they've passed.

I agree with all, but don't personally use an eye mirror; can't see the issue with it as long as you're still seeing everything you need to!

I can’t understand why an instructor would think that someone who just passed can’t drive the car !!! They are now a full licence holder , and as such are still insured to drive our car .

I love doing things differently with my pupils!! My pupils are always surprised when I encourage them to do a lesson in bad weather, bring a friend/parent/child on a lesson, go through a drive through/multi storey car park, drive to work/school/granny's house, go off "normal" roads and do tight back streets. I prefer to teach real life driving and managing situations safely rather than memorising test routes

I’ve just passed my test but after reading this, I wish I’d of had you as my instructor. I have three children and so nervous to drive with them in the back

I was told by my instructor that I wasn’t allowed to drive home after I passed my test because I was no longer a learner driver and wasn’t insured on the vehicle. I mean that was fine by me as I’d just done a 5 day intensive course and I was knackered by the end of it 🤣

After my driving test I was told to give him a 5 star review and record a video saying how good his company was before driving me home… 😅

as a parent, love the kids bit! My husband mentioned to his instructor in a passing comment he was terrified of passing his test and driving our daughter (like 4 weeks old at the time 😂) on his own for the first time, and he told him just bring her along to a couple lessons, it'll help the anxiety. We moved before he got to that point but it was greatly appreciated!

Adi with learner insurance in a dual control car is covered for any driver , with valid licence , regardless of passing the test or not. eg. Instuctor Training or refresher course . The issue is if you have used your own car , as having passed , the insurance company need to be informed you are a Full Licence Holder.

When my partner was learning to drive his instructor specifically asked him to bring me and our daughter on one of his lessons, his argument was sometimes knowing you’ve got passengers in the car can help

Why not use an eye tracking camera so you can see exactly where they are looking at and then you can always go over it with them at the end and explain where else they could be looking

My driving instructor has let me bring my youngest a few times when childcare has fallen through and would talk to her to keep her calm too! Forever grateful for that ❤️
