If you have flooring under the roof (for the wall trim) that’s most likely what is causing the problem. Deleting it should fix the roofing. I think they tried to fix the issue where the roof clips inside a room with a platform/hole in the floor and just went overboard lol

This happend to me and if u delete the ceiling of the rooms on the top floor (click on the room, go to the next level of the house, click on the yellow outline and choose delete ceiling) u are able to add a roof no problem!!🫶
