I don’t remember exactly what it’s called but I do know that there is adult protective services for disabled people. However, I do understand about making it worse for a person by getting involved. My sincerest condolences and prayers to you and your friend and anyone who goes through abuse of any kind.

This is the problem with relationships Lacey, they are a minefield. As someone without a disability (apart from being a man) I suspect anyone who cares for you would look at me and think ‘why?’ Relationships are built on trust and not exploiting vulnerability. However, if you intervene to protect someone you care for, they aren’t always grateful. I would say be there for them when the penny drops and don’t say I told you so 😊
