@longlivejxdah: It wasn’t until years later that it dawned on me how insane it was to be pulled over in broad daylight while riding my bike to work. profiling and harassment is real people, if you don’t believe me believe the hundreds of thousands of stories similar to mine.

It’s not easy being a black man in America. Especially when you’re a big black man. If you were dark skinned the profiling would be worse. I was at a meeting and it started with everyone pledging allegiance to the flag of the United States 🇺🇸. I realized what I was saying and couldn’t finish because to me the words were hypocritical. The reality is that humanity started in Africa and all humans have black DNA. Maybe the BS will stop when the world 🌎 is educated!

Yes, this happens. I was surprised by it when I moved into Kingston NY and black people were being pulled over on their bikes and telling them they needed a permit to ride a bike there. I was in shock honestly. This was in the late 90’s. Now in the 2020’s the city is being gentrified and they took out a whole lane on Broadway to add bike lanes and I don’t see any gentrifies being questioned about a bike permit…
