@blakemallen: Last weekend felt like coming home… For the first time since the fire, so many of the traditions that make the Palisades… the Palisades… returned. The 5K. The parade. Neighbors gathering. Kids running free. And for a moment… it didn’t feel like we were simply returning to a place. It felt like we were returning to each other. Not because everything is rebuilt. It’s far from it. There are still empty lots. Still unanswered questions. Still families carrying more than most people know. But the moments reminded me… The first thing we rebuild after loss isn’t a place. It’s community. That’s what I saw. Not a perfect one… A resilient one. To everyone in our Palisades community… Thank you for continuing to show up. For bringing back the traditions that remind us who we are. For proving that resilience isn’t just rebuilding homes… It’s rebuilding community. Don’t wait until everything feels fixed before you start living again. Don’t wait until every answer comes before taking the next step. Show up. Choose people. Keep moving forward. Because sometimes the most important thing we’re rebuilding isn’t what’s around us… It’s what connects us. . . . PS.
