The things you forget to mention...jellyfish are really bad, the turquoise color is because of the algae that is thick..sand so hot you cant walk on it, and sharks are making their presence known daily. You most likely saw an Osprey and not an Eagle. Oh, and be prepared to sit in traffic getting to the beach, then NO PARKING due to overcrowding. Restaurants mediocre at best, and wait times exhausting. It os overhyped, and disappointing. Go further south.

Pensacola beach July 11-18. Literally everyday looked like this 😭 I was SO disappointed. Full of sea lice and jellyfish too.

I went to highschool in Ft Walton Beach, and going to Okaloosa Island or even the military beach has ruined other beaches for me. My dad also used to take us fishing too - I live in the DMV now, but sometimes I miss Pensacola/Ft Walton Beach.
