@readtheirmind: People have beautiful things to say about you. But somehow, you have to die first. They won’t tell you while you’re still here. They won’t tell you how proud they are. How much you meant to them. How your presence made their life better. But when you’re gone… Suddenly, everyone finds the words. We write the most beautiful speeches for eulogies. We bring flowers to graves. We carve loving words into gravestones. We write long posts about how much someone meant to us. But the person who needed to hear those words can no longer hear them. And that may be one of the saddest things about human nature. We wait until absence teaches us the value of presence. Don’t do that. If you love someone, tell them. If you’re proud of someone, say it. If someone changed your life, let them know while they’re still here to feel it. Don’t save your flowers for their funeral. Don’t save your words for their gravestone. Don’t let death make you brave enough to say what love should have made you say while they were alive.
