Here’s 5 garden plants that don’t need you hovering over them and actual thrive with a little neglect. 🍉 Watermelon — Once the vines get established, they mostly just want sunshine, space, and consistent water. You don’t even really have to worry about water towards the end because it dilutes the flavor! 🌱 Bush beans — They grow quickly, stay compact, and don’t need staking or much fussing. Too much fertilizer and they stop producing as many beans. 🥒 Zucchini — Give it room, keep an eye out for pests, and it’ll usually produce more than you know what to do with. Of course if you leave it alone for too long you’ll end up with gigantic zucchini, but that makes delish relish & pickles. 🍠 Sweet potatoes — The vines spread, shade out weeds, and quietly grow underground until harvest time. A real set-it-and-forget-it crop. 🍅 Cherry tomatoes — They’re often more forgiving than larger tomatoes and keep producing even when conditions aren’t perfect. You needn’t prune as much either!
