VDM appealed to the Federal Government to prioritise the rehabilitation and psychological support of the children, saying it was difficult to imagine the trauma they may have experienced, including reportedly witnessing their principal being UNALIVED in their presence. He urged the government not to abandon the children after their release but to ensure they receive the care and support needed to recover from their ordeal.
