Religion has historically been used as a tool to justify inequality and oppression. Men use it to serve their own interests. In Christianity, they release a New Testament of the bible. But in Islam, the Quran cannot be changed, so instead they invent or twist the interpretations of hadits in order for men to fulfil their agenda. It’s idiotic for a sheikh to say that FGM is sunnah but it’s a sin to pluck your eyebrows. The objective has always been control, this is what the prophet was afraid of, not of women having autonomy, but of men using a beautiful religion as a tool for oppression.
