And half the time when he was actually at camp, they didn’t even like him. 1st book - as soon as he gets claimed they ice him out kind of, then post SoM they favor Thalia and kind of shove him to the side until she leaves. (Im kind of exaggerating but not by much)

Not necessarily. Camp runs for 3 months. Most of his quests start immediately, so when he gets back he’s at camp till summer is over. I think a book or 2 have short summaries at the end glossing over the rest of camp.

Nah it’d be like this everyone knows who Percy Jackson is. “Oh yeah son of Poseidon. Yeah I know of him. Do I personally know him. Nah 😂😂😂 like he’s barely around dude rocks up for a couple days hijacks quests and then we see him again for Fourth of July or summer solstice shenanigans. Like honestly I’m pretty surprised how little I know of him. He’s a monster sword fighter and isn’t even the best - that title belongs to this uhh guy his name was Luke - we don’t talk about Luke anymore 😒 but yeah 😅 Percy’s nice I guess 🤷🏾♂️he uh likes blue food and umm his mom often bakes cookies for us whenever she picks him up at the end of summer 😁”

People try so hard to make Percy out to be some kind of social butterfly when that couldn’t be further from the truth. Most of the interactions he has with other characters are forced proximity and he barely gets along with them. The only characters he actually considers himself close to are Grover and Annabeth. The only other person he came close to creating a deeper bond with was Charlie post BOTL just for him to die in TLO. We see him create a genuine connection with Frank and Hazel in SON but I would argue that was due to him being a blank slate for majority of the book. He barely interacts with them after getting his memory back but still cares for them a lot. He really doesn’t form any deep bonds with the HOO crew. People over exaggerate his "bromance" with Jason when it really was just a surface level male alliance with some unspoken rivalry baked into it. I think it’s hard for the audience to accept that despite us loving Percy, he actually isn’t that well liked by the characters in his universe. He’s respected and feared, sure, but most definitely not adored. Most of his peers don’t find him that pleasant to be around.

To the people arguing in the comments… Percy is an introvert with like 2 friends at camp (3 if you count Clarisse) also NO ONE liked him his first 2 years there, I personally don’t think he ever let that go. People weren’t hoping on the Percy train till like BOTL

i feel like itd be really funny if they didnt even know he was still there till the end of camp. quiet kid percy ily, he gets the quest done, then hides out in the woods or away from people (aside from annabeth and grover, maybe beckendorf and silena depending on when it is) so most of the camp dont even see him 90% of the time and the rest of campers dont even know hes still there

Most of his quests only last two weeks, with the exception of battle of the labyrinth, because they're in so many places that have f'ed up time.

Lightning thief they were done by 25th of June he leaves in august thats 2 months and that happened sea of monsters and battle of labyrinth so if you gonna pretend to be biggest fan actually pay attention

Just because he goes on a quest every summer doesn't mean he isn't actually spending any time at camp in the original series. Most of the quests have a 1-2 week deadline that must be met and they are usually issued in June. The longest quest in the og series was the one in battle of the labyrinth and half of that time was (at least partially) because Percy was recovering from Mt st Helen's on Calypso's island for 2 weeks. Every summer since Percy first went to camp he has spent at least 1-2 months of it actually at chb. The only exception is in last Olympian when he spent as much time with RED over that summer as possible because he was scared of the prophecy

u forgot that there wasn’t a lot of kids in camp half blood when percy was there cause the 12 cabins and the gods barely claimed kids or even let them get to camp so everyone knew everyone esp since percy was famous since day one

its even more funny for how little they knew Nico. like people talk about how little Nico felt like he fit in but based on the timeline not only was the longest he was at camp before post-bom was probably during ttc(he was only there for..3 days(?) in botl before dipping ) then post bom based off timeline that Hazel was only there a month before Jason got Juno-napped, which was in October if the wiki's correct(havn't read hoo in a bit-)longest Nico was in camp before already leaving again was barely a month before he was already in the underworld again then visits to CJ. dude was like a stray cat that came and went to especially summer campers who only knew him for fighting in botl and bom
