People who hate the professor are missing the point. It is not about the grades, it is about learning. And yeah, the students could take it up to the dean, but good luck explaining the discrepancy.

I have a feeling that the 55/70 student didn’t cheat either. Without looking at it, I’d have a hard time proving it, but most students have a significant improvement when they use more time. Not a 45% to 95% improvement, but a 55% to 70% is believable.

Has this comment section ever been to university? A 70% pass rate is NORMAL and changing weighting during the semester is NORMAL (doesn't happen often but it is allowed). Eg during COVID, plenty University's that required a final exam had to switch to 100% coursework to accommodate for lockdown

Not everyone who did worse on the final necessarily cheated. That many big differences is definitely concerning, but it is common to see some difference from one exam to another. For example, the 98 to 88 is a totally reasonable difference.

He is completely correct. If you don’t know how to do the research for the work of your degree you will not be effective in that field of study. Learn to do the work so you have a good basis to break rules when necessary.

I took a stats class this year. I never used ai especially because my final was proctored. I learned how to do it front to back and back to front and it worked for me so well. I’m so proud of myself.
