We have normalized drinking way too much. It’s sad, dangerous and immature. If things in life aren’t fun without alcohol, then you need to look at your life.

I don't drink to deal with stress or because I'm having a bad day. I drink because an ice cold beer on hot day tastes awesome. Sipping a whiskey while sitting around a campfire is one of the best things ever. When the time comes. yes, I will teach my daughter how to drink properly.

Of course not. We would teach them that you can enjoy your life in many ways including good food and good drink. The shaming with enjoying wine and beer has to stop.

I don’t really ever drink, but their dad does and my kids (13 & 14) hate seeing their dad drinking. He’s not a drunk or anything, they just see the behavior / personality shift and find it off putting 😂 thank god!!

Just as anything in life I want to prepare my kids. Are they going to drink- possibly , so model safe behavior and good choices when drinking and the last thing I want is them going off to college without understanding boundaries of alcohol and going wild

my ex and I both drank. we told our kids its like everything else. too much definitely a bad thing, using it as a crutch will get you no where. there is nothing wrong with drinking and having a good time. do you need to drink to have a good time no. all four of my daughters are grow. none of them are drug addicts or acholics. we didnt hide the damage they could do if you let them take over your life

I don't drink for any of those reasons. I drink a moderate amount because I enjoy it, and they can too when they're old enough. This makes it seem like everyone who drinks is an alcoholic. If you have that issue, then deal with that

You teach them to drink responsibly regardless if you drink or not. Because at the end of the day you can't stop them but hopefully you can bestow upon them the wisdom to make the right choice.
