🚨🔥MASSIVE WILDFIRE IN NORTH WESTERN ONTARIO🔥 Evacuation orders have been issued for Armstrong, Cushing Lake, and the Collins, Whitesand, and Lac des Mille Lacs First Nations as wildfires continue to threaten communities across northwestern Ontario. Emergency Management Ontario is directing affected residents to evacuate south toward Thunder Bay🙏🏻 Canada now has 796 active wildfires - including 60 out of control. More than 1.4 million hectares have burned in 2026 so far, with elevated fire weather in the NWT, B.C. and Ontario.🙏🏻 Ontario Provincial Police have ordered evacuations for Armstrong, Cushing Lake, and the Collins, Whitesand, and Lac des Mille Lacs First Nations due to ongoing forest fires, with Emergency Management Ontario directing residents to head south to Thunder Bay. Residents of Ignace, Crystal Lake, and the Highway 633 area should prepare for possible evacuation too, as a severe heat warning brings highs of 36 C (feeling like 40 C) to the region Tuesday. The climate crisis is driving an exponential rise in the most extreme wildfires in key regions around the world, research has revealed. The researchers also warned that the rise in the huge fires was threatening to create a “scary” feedback loop, in which the vast carbon emissions released by the fires cause more global heating, which causes more fires. Actuaries are now warning that at 3C or more of heating by 2050, there could be more than 4 billion deaths, significant sociopolitical fragmentation worldwide, failure of states (with resulting rapid, enduring, and significant loss of capital), and extinction events. If it’s 2C by 2050 (guaranteed) that’s 2 billion deaths. Both scenarios are 20-40 times worse than both world wars combined, respectively. See https://global-tipping- points.org/planetary-solvency/ Feeling overwhelmed is understandable, but doing nothing guarantees nothing changes. #canada #ontario #canadawildfire #ontariowildfire #wildfires
