Also case was not guilty and not “dismissed”.

Fundamentally she told a different account in court than she told the police. This is why they couldn't prove beyond reasonable doubt that Micheal ward was guilty. Unanimously they said not guilty. Her account of what happened changed so much the judge had to pause proceedings to remind her that she's under oath. So that's why this particular case burst. If you're telling a completely different story you can't expect to convict the defendant.

I agree people just end up making unfalsifiable claims about this

Because of the nature of these cases, sometimes people who do these acts get away with it. And again because of the nature of these cases the idea of someone getting away with this is so untenable and vile to think about, many would rather engage in a weird form of collective punishment by ignoring the courts decision and assuming the guilt of anyone accused even if the verdict in court is not guilty. This way they can ensure anyone who gets off but did do it will still suffer some consequences through social exile, at the cost of anyone who genuinely isn’t guilty and was found not guilty in court.

Courts aren’t about truth, but rather what can be proved.

Not guilty ≠ innocent is the only time anything of this nature is said. You never hear ppl on the net say even if someone’s found guilty doesn’t mean they did the crime even though that’s also true. Just stating the obvious to a painful degree. It’s just irrelevant hearsay especially following a unanimous verdict. “Whatever the truth is.” 🤣

Rape cases are statistically hard to prove. So whatever the truth is a sensible take. The “good” thing is rapist don’t stop, that’s why they usually have various charges… when found not guilty they feel validated and continue. The only caveat is that they usually become more violent and murderous. So we shall see.

He's right, his point is this whole situation could've been prevented if he didn't have casual sex, rape is notoriously hard to prove due to the nature of it
