Linen during the summer; cotton, 400 thread count for the other months. And trust me, I did not buy the linen; I found 4 sets of Sijo French linen, queen size, in almost new condition - $15 for all. The seller did not know it was linen, I think. Lucky me! I take very good care of them so they can last a long time.
