A bento is simply a boxed meal. It isn’t inherently about a woman cooking for a man. Anyone can make a bento for themselves, for their family, or buy one at a store. If the discussion is about sexism or traditional gender roles in Japanese society, that’s a separate issue. A bento itself is just a meal, not a symbol of sexism.

I'm still confused. she's saying women oppression. And you're saying empire. so is it oppression or empire. And if it's empire. Is the woman oppression like 1 of many byproducts of the empire?
