@nextgenzvoices: Theresa Lardi Awuni, Member of Parliament for Okaikwei North, directed a company operating within her constituency to suspend its operations and participate in the National Day of General Clean-Up exercise after it was found to be conducting normal business during the exercise. The clean-up campaign follows President John Dramani Mahama’s declaration of today as the National Day of General Clean-Up, an initiative aimed at promoting environmental sanitation and encouraging active community participation across the country. People are praising this, but cleaning public gutters is the government's responsibility, not taxpayers'. We already pay taxes for public services. Government should enforce sanitation laws by fining and prosecuting those who litter, while ensuring drains are cleaned regularly. Citizens should keep their surroundings clean, but forcing people to do the government's job is not a solution. She has not met her match yet.
