That's really what I like about Codex/GPT over Claude Code/Claude, Claude will leave your project half done if you run out of usage.

they recently changed it for sure on the plus plan. Now for me codex does finish its last code changes but will stop once it starts on a new file, make a memo of where it left and tells me to come back when the usage resets. It used to finish the task if you still had weekly usage even if the 5hr usage was out.

It still uses ur weekly limit but has a limit, its so it can attempt to complete whatever current task was running before your hourly limit ran out without stopping dead

It usually completes the task then stops accepting new ones, unlike Claude which is much more restrictive

I think it's bug, before they had a method of not interrupting the last task even if it had reached the limit. But nowadays, things are happening stranger than I am, I do not have weekly use, for some reason.
