So I had a lengthy conversation with my Grandmother about this. I said the Bible is the word of God. She stated no it’s a translation and as you see Genesis 1:1 the first sentence was translated incorrectly so how do we know that the rest of the Bible also hasn’t been translated incorrectly? When we have the KJV and other versions, how do we know which is true? She makes a fair point as the Bible was translated from 3 different languages. Someone help me to make a counter argument against her statement. Thanks 🙏

I can’t comprehend the hubris it takes to call Paul wrong. Paul was a highly educated Jew in the Pharisee teachings of the day. He was also deliberately selected by God to evangelize the known world. Nope, I’m not calling Paul wrong on Jewish-Christian matters.

I only trust Jesus' words (4 main gospels). For Paul, i discard him completly because everything he says is the opposite of Jesus teachings and it's always tinted of roman laws, jews religion and old "ways". Go read Paul, it's a fact, he cannot be trusted.

I'd say, as a Christian, it is certainly possible .... and likely, that believers will wrestle with scripture from time to time. I believe that God welcomes it. But we wrestle with it with the secure understanding that the purpose, definition, meaning, intent, and ultimate Truth is held in The Word and The Spirit of God who indwells us. It is perfectly acceptable to question and inquire for greater understanding. But Christ remains The Truth - whether or not we fully understand in the moment, what truths are being stated in scripture.

I do think that the apocrypha should also be included in the bible. Because most of them contain straightforward information from the people that lived it. Specially the testament of Adam and Eve, the books of Enoch, the writings of Abraham and the Ascension of Isaiah
