About curly hair. My completely white Ukrainian uncle has such curly hair that it looks like a white person afro hairstyle. During soviet union, he was literally threatened (maybe even beaten, I didn't get that story clear when he was telling it) to shave his hair cause it was deemed 'bourgeoisie'. You know who was 'threatened' alongside him? A gay guy for being gay. To this day, my uncle is an avid supporter of gay people

потрібно не забувати, що українці були у рабстві (кріпацтво) не менше, ніж африканці. Відповідно, чому українці будуть ставитися якось погано до іншого кольору шкіри... ми розуміємо, що попасти в рабство може будь хто, і, головне не національність, раса, а яка людина. Головне, щоб не москаль😁

It’s not because of the Soviet Union; it’s because our blood is a mix of many different peoples and nations—Cimmerians, Scythians, Sarmatians, various Slavic tribes, and even some Germanic ones. Our land sits at the crossroads of East and West. There’s almost no racism here because we judge people by their mind and actions, not their appearance—simply because we ourselves are a mix of different cultures and races. Knowing my people’s history, I’ve never thought of myself as 'white' or anything like that, even though I’m very pale and from Zaporizhzhia :)
