As a huge fan of the animated Moana, I genuinely loved the live-action. It doesn’t replace the original, it honors it. The cast felt like they were brought straight from the animation into live action, they were perfectly cast. The visuals were breathtaking, and both the classic songs and the new music gave me absolute goosebumps. The minimal changes didn’t bother me because the execution was so good. The way they brought T’Kaā and Te Fiti to life was so, so good. The CGI was crisp, and the execution was absolutely stunning. It honestly made me wish Disney would expand the Moana universe, with Maui, Moana and her family discovering more islands and encountering more gods and goddesses. I’d be seated for that. P.S. Pua and Heihei were absolutely adorable. They were just as cute and hilarious as I hoped they’d be. 🐷🐔🌊✨
