I don’t know how to explain this but it’s like the voice memo’s siblings are Jonah Hill’s texts

First dates are full of “can you give me what I want or not?” Because compatibility is based on what each party wants and whether or not it aligns.

100% this is the core of the issue, and a lot of people on both sides of the debate are irrelevant arguments

Imma be so honest I’ve been skipping videos abt this and I really thought the question of consent was abt her posting the voice memo online without consent lol

He is looking for something. She said she didn't know. He touched base again and said he did not want to move further if that wasn't part of it. Dating worked. Two people who were not compatible stopped seeing each other. A lack of tact is not morally reprehensible.

I think if he was like “all I want from this relationship is sex” then I’d be like I suppose that’s fair. But the whole “we can’t progress if you don’t agree to have sex with me now” really doesn’t work for me.

Please re-evaluate saying things like “she invited him for dinner, she probably thought they were gonna hook up in some way, you don’t invite someone over to shake hands”. People invite folks to their homes without consenting to physical intimacy all the time, especially now that it costs $100 to do anything outside the home. It’s not like she said “Netflix and chill”. Location doesn’t imply consent and we don’t need folks thinking there’s some soft consent or that everyone thinks the way you do about what a home invite means.

Yeah he is being explicit about what he expects the power dynamic to be him in charge and she can take it or leave it

I don’t understand how this is such a talking point. He didn’t do something evil, he did something off putting. Just don’t see him again. It’s so easy to do. It’s only been one date and it’s a voice note. He didn’t say it while inside her apartment.
