All university students in Burkina Faso now receive a monthly stipend of 100,000 CFA francs (about $170) to support them during their studies and until they find employment. Since Traoré took office, Burkina Faso has reportedly generated $18 billion in gold mining revenue--compared to just $1 billion annually under previous foreign contracts He is reviewing foreign resource deals empowering youth, and promoting transparency in governance. Internationally, he has strengthened ties with Russia and President Vladimir Putin, seeking partnerships that respect Burkina Faso's sovereignty Burkina Faso has also launched its own electric vehicle brand, ITAOUA.
