Hello, Doctor. In March 2026, I received CD19 + BCMA CAR-T therapy. It was my last hope for survival. I have scleroderma, interstitial lung disease (ILD), dysautonomia, and several other autoimmune diseases. I have great hope that this treatment will change the course of my illnesses and give me a better quality of life. Thank you for the work you do to advance these therapies and bring hope to patients like me.

Thank you for your detailed explanation of CAR-T therapy. It has been widely used in oncology and has been found to benefit certain autoimmune diseases. I had a form of CAR-T cell therapy but was with NK cells and not T cells so CAR-NK cell for SLE. It was a phase 1 clinical trial and I had a response but not prolonged so I went back to my pre treatment state. CAR-T cell therapy is what is more widely studied and has clinical trials that are much more further along and some have shown some SLE pts have gone completely off therapy and are doing very well. CAR-T cell therapy can have acute or late side effects which is the area where informed consent must be very detailed. As providers (I am an oncology NP) we are tasked with offering ongoing education and are available to answer questions in real time. I am waiting to see if I will be allowed into a CAR -T clinical trial 🤞. I girl can dream… 💜
