@mrcharliebird: Some called them chicken pillows… Others called them chicken puffs… Either way they are DELICIOUS and a cultural staple in Utah! We have a big family reunion/friends lake trip coming up so I decided to make this fan favorite for my assigned dinner night. This is Ryan’s great grandma‘s recipe and as you can tell it’s giving all of the buttery creamy chicken goodness of a classic ward potluck. It does take a little bit of prep work, but they’re super fun to make and taste great! Ingredients * 4 chicken breasts * 8 oz cream cheese * 8 Tbsp butter * 2 onions, diced * 3 celery stalks, diced * 1 tsp pepper * 1 cup seasoned bread crumbs * ¾ cup chopped pecans * 2 crescent roll sheets * Chicken gravy packets Directions 1. Dice and cook the chicken. 2. Sauté the onions and celery in half the butter. (Option to cook the chicken with the sauté but we usually bake to keep moisture) 3. While warm, stir in the cream cheese and pepper, then mix in the chicken. 4. Combine bread crumbs and chopped pecans. 5. Cut each crescent sheet into 8 squares. Add filling, fold, and pinch into balls. (I find it easier to get the full sheets instead of the pre-scored triangles but both work) 6. Dip each ball in the other half of the butter (melted), then coat in the breadcrumb mixture. 7. Bake at 375°F for 30 minutes. 8. Mix the chicken gravy packet and pour over dumplings before serving. Makes about 16 “pillows” — feeds 5-6 Lmk if you make it! And feel free to save/share the recipe…great grandma was a generous gal 😉 #utah #food #lds #mormon #Recipe
