A designer knows and follows the rules. A good designer is able to break those rules in an appealing way to create new rules. If we will end up only speaking to ai or agents the interesting question will be imagine the environment we will end in and the subsequent new rules. I think there is still space for good designers using great ai.

reminds me of one of my instructors in college (in the 00s) she was so good at what she did in motion graphics that she just needed word of mouth, not the website portfolio she took down b/c a previous student stole the work from the site and plagiarized it as their own

Ai won’t come up with a novel concept or style. But once it’s figured out and systematized, ai can learn then execute it. There’s no reason ai can’t learn and do a match cut.
