@mostcancelledmanalive: i said “like” an obnoxious amount of times i’m aware. this is really a conversation for twitter but i’m posting it nonetheless. #real #xenofeminism
I think there's a lot to be angry about but few avenues to start fixing any of it. Makes me sad more than anything

radical feminism struggles with monolithizing women and and women's experiences, often they ignore the structural / privilege differences between neurodivergent or disabled women of colour (for example) and able-bodied white women. and vast differences between economic and material realities of people. some women don't worry about the glass ceiling or abstract exclusion and ”othering“ of women in the mainstream media, SW politics, but basic survival and resources

100% radfems are mostly alienated women who have trauma specific to men in their lives or the gender and it’s easier to channel that energy into hating half the population than getting help and learning how to heal yourself and make actual political progress

i mean i’ve personally softened my views and consider myself more of a marxfem than a radfem, i’ve been enlightened by transradfeminists. i don’t hate men actively because that’s too much energy. i do think women especially young women have a right to be angry all the time because womanhood feels like you’re being poked and prodded all the time with no escape. the gender dysphoria thing is interesting though because i question this myself. it’s hard to parse through feeling like you wanted to be a different sex vs not wanting to be the sex that’s always subordinated/dominated.

The fact that many of them come from strict religious upbringing tracks. Coming from someone who immersed myself in radfem online spaces in the past, many of them have told me their upbringing and how one of the things that attracted them to the radfem ideology was their s3xual suppression. What eventually drove me away from radical feminism in the long run was (not only) their transphobia and hostile behavior towards SWers and black and white thinking + leaving no room for intersectionality in their politic. I ended up realizing just how eerily similar their recruiting (and eventually) indoctrination tactics were to that of alt-right spaces.

you described how i feel about other types of feminism perfectly, because if you looked into history why would you be anything else but a radfem? i’m talking to marxist feminists. this ideology was constructed by a man, that clearly did not know when patriarchy started, and marxist feminism is honestly a countermovement to what feminism should be to me. i dislike marx feminists with a burning passion as a believer in communism.

THANK YOU. I never liked radfeminism from the beginning for these reasons but I had a hard time articulating it

I think radical feminism has a solid foundation to understanding patriarchy. But it's a liberation ideology but it needs to be reformed.

Yeah, Ive always struggled to get into radical feminism because I personally just can’t be mad about everything all the time😭. I want to, despite all the terrible things women have to deal with, enjoy my life because I only get one. So I’m going to make it good and focus on learning, achieving something I’m proud of, and doing things I’m passionate about.

I feel like a lot of online political ideologies are cope ideologies in the sense that they Don’t offer a meaningful pathway to political success if that makes sense. So it just resolves to anger instead

Radical Feminism and liberal feminism are both just the same neoliberal carceral feminism and I feel practictioners of both would have had their white boyfriends lynch black men hitting on them just like white women in the Jim Crow South. That’s why I’m an anarcha-feminist. Reject Gloria Steinem and Andrew Dworkin, read Emma Goldman and Voltairine de Cleyre instead.

For me it was the trans misogyny that really scared me and took me aback. Like if ur scared of “males” and hate them or whatever it eventually melds with whatever previous bigotry you have within you. Thats how u end up with people not caring for boys as a class of children and being weird about trans women even when everything points to them suffering misogyny. It’s an interesting and strong ideology but it leaves too many gaps to ever be fully coherent to me ig. Also I fuck with the glasses
