@yo.fyi: “Mommy, I want that house. Ayoko na ng house natin.” Natawa ako sa sinabi ng 3-year old ko habang naglalakad kami sa village namin. At the same time, medyo na-offend ako para sa bahay namin. 😂 It’s done nothing but protect us. Hindi siya mansion. May tulo pa minsan pag malakas ang ulan. But it’s kept us warm, safe, and together. May season na rainy days didn’t feel cozy to me. Growing up in Marikina, rainy days meant wondering if papasukin kami ng baha at titigil nanaman ang buhay namin. Now, every time it rains, I get to stay in and spend quality time with my family without the anxiety. That’s something I never want to stop noticing. I still have dreams. I still want more. But I hope I never let my desires convince me that what I have today isn’t enough. It’s okay to desire more. Just not at the expense of gratitude.
