as a person with a disability who has had to deal with this before. no, she does not have to be respectful to her aunt. in fact, I would say she's owed an apology from her aunt and from her parents. This girl is absolutely right, she should be allowed to decide her limitations. no one else.

I mean, it's her wedding she can choose who goes, but the parents as guests can decide whether to go or not, because personally, if they were discriminating my kid like that, theres is no way would I attend to that wedding.

The aunt DOES get to decide who attends. What the family & aunt DOESN'T get to do is tell op how to feel about it or tell her she needs to continue to have a relationship with her aunt. Op can be dismissive yet polite at other family get togethers in the future. Op is entitled to her feelings about this.

the older brother should go and be loud about how the bride and groom excluded his disabled sister and his parents whent along with it. the ex aunt didn't want her niece ther to ruin her day so the brother should de there to do it
