you know security have no more power then any normal person as far as arresting people, same powers as citizen arrest. but 100% agree so soft now that's what they hire now. 30yrs previous experience in security in 3 states here. got out because it became a joke.

In relation to security you are correct. Shopping centers and mall security are basically there for window dressing. Unfortunately the centers and the security firms that employ these guards basically firbid guards from doing anything. The reality of it is everyone is too worried about litigation. Shopping centers and security firms have policies but any decent security should understand the law overrides Policies and they should act under the law not ridiculous policies
