The case took an even more dramatic turn after dozens of Indonesian military personnel were seen guarding Febrie's residence shortly after the searches, prompting speculation about possible interference in the investigation. Reports also claimed that military personnel appeared at the Jakarta Metropolitan Police headquarters, although the Indonesian military has denied sending troops there and says the security deployment at Febrie's residence was carried out legally at the request of the Attorney General's Office.
