@githinjimumbi: Today we completed one of the most meaningful projects in our family learning journey. An original A6 black-and-white photograph of our grandfather, James Githinji Gacheru, taken on 26 February 1976, was carefully scanned, digitally restored, enlarged to A1 size, and preserved in a handcrafted solid mahogany wood frame. This project was about more than restoring an old photograph. It taught us about digital restoration, large-format printing, precision measurement, woodwork, frame making, craftsmanship, and the importance of preserving family history for future generations. Every family has a story worth protecting. This portrait will become part of our permanent family archive—a legacy that will inspire our children and grandchildren for years to come.
