According to reports, former spy master Maj #genbirungi has been remanded to prison over ‘cooking up’ terror intelligence to get money from his boss Gen Museveni Birungi, the former director of the Chieftaincy of Military Intelligence (CMI), is accused alongside 3 others of the fatal shooting of an innocent young woman travelling on a motorcycle near Kalerwe Market and an innocent man near the Catholic Shrine in Munyonyo during the Uganda Martyrs Day celebrations, claiming they were suspected suicide bombers yet it wasn't true, Gen Birungi did it so that him and other security chiefs could obtain state funds. It should also be noted that Gen Birungi is among the individuals listed as state witnesses in the treason case against opposition strongman Dr Kizza Besigye, Hajji Obeid Lutale Kamulegeya and Capt Denis Oola, who are accused of plotting to overthrow the government of Gen Museveni. courtesy of Ritah kaggwa
