@nrlphysio: Thoughts with Stephen Crichton who was stretchered off with a suspected nerve issue in his neck. Crichton has a history of nerve injury in the right side of his neck, having multiple instances in the 2024/25 season where he has gone off with pain/numbness/weakness down his arm. Thankfully reports from the sheds are the stretcher was a precaution & he is up and moving around, but still in some discomfort. Innocuous mechanism - slight whiplash which can pinch nerves as they run out of the right side of the neck. Considering Crichton’s history it makes sense - after multiple issues that area in the neck (joints/discs/nerves) can become more susceptible to aggravation (doesn’t take as much force to cause pain). Usually a relatively quick recovery (Crichton only missed 1 week with his previous aggravations) but if there’s been further damage this time can require more time on the sideline. #nrl
