thanks. I turned the sound off and read the comments. Wife and I are going on Princess cruise in august and got what i thought was a very fair deal . Added the princess plus package which includes alchohol, wifi and crew tips....800 for both of us 7day cruise. We are not wealthy people but I will still be rewarding the crew members with cash tips as I see fit. Great service earns a tip everytime in my opinion.

Been cruising for over 15 years never removed tips even tho I’ve talked to employees who say they don’t see the tips and it’s several videos online saying that employees don’t get extra money from tips automatically added by cruise lines. I’m just too lazy and feel embarrassed to stand in line to get it taken off. I also always tip cash to all employees who I deal with and leave reviews for exceptional service.

I liked the automatic gratuity until I found it it is just payroll for the cruise line.

I removed mine yet I tipped more as I want the people I tip to get that money not a pool that subsidies their wages. They earned the money not the cruise line. Ask the crew members if they get that money or as set salary that is offset for the cruise line as they only get that certain amount.

I actually think you're wrong...going on our first cruise, soon...we pre-paid our tips, however I think there is nothing wrong with tipping in cash...that way you can give as much as you want or as little, directly to the ones that really deserve it

🤔 I enter my stateroom. Full disinfectant mode in overdrive. Once cleaned, (my clean), no one enters. I make my bed, police my trash-pay the attendant to stay out. I don’t remove prepaid tips. Dining room I also tip the wait staff, I don’t drink so there is no one to tip.
