I exchanged my U.S driver’s license for a Portuguese one. One of the requirements during the process is providing your official U.S driving record (which is easy to get , you can either call the DMV and have them send it to you, or request it online). Another one they usually ask is comprovativo domicilio fiscal ( prove tax adress), basically you can get it online in finanças site. I came from Fall River just like you guys, but I’m living in the Azores now. Expensive the portuguese license here, about 1200 euros (Azores) They also take your U.S. license and send it back to the U.S, so you lose it. But I still found it much better than having to get a driver’s license from scratch here in Portugal. Overall experience with them was 10/10

You better check the IMT website because you might need a certificate from the US to exchange your driving license. I exchanged mine this year as well and did it over their official site (I come from another European country) It was super easy

para renovar a carta de condução pode ir a uma escola de condução eles tratam de tudo. ah escolas que têm os médicos e fazem já tudo.

It took me 13 months to get my card in hand to exchange my US drivers license to a Portuguese one 😭

I don't know about getting it for the first time but you can renew it online, which is also much cheaper than getting it at a 'escola de condução'.

Is it not a problem when you go back us you can not drive anymore bcs you changed it to a portugees one right friend of me changed his brazilian one to portugee ona and now can not have the old one back anymore
