@dr.allison.rodgers: NICE (National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) is a UK public body. It creates rules and advice for the National Health Service (NHS). It decides which medicines, medical tests, The NICE published draft guidance recommending two new non invasive testing for endometriosis: Endotest and EndoSure. These are not currently available in the US. But let me give you my thoughts. When I'm considering a test for patients and thinking about utilizing new technology, I ask the following questions. 1. Is this test acurate? 2. Does it reduce time to diagnosis/treatment? 3. What is the Cost? Is it covered by insurance? 4. Does it take time or is it invasive? 5. What are we going to do with information gained from the test? 6. Are there risks associated with just doing the test? Endotest Endotest is an mRNA next gene sequencing salivary test to look at fingerprint of genes consistent with endometriosis. Large prospective validation study (published in the New England Journal of Medicine publication) compared salivary study to surgical or ultrasound diagnosis of endometriosis with high accuracy. My conclusion: would consider trying depending on cost. EndoSure The EndoSure Test is a non-invasive, 30-minute diagnostic test where Electrogastrogram (EGG)/ Electroviscerogram (EVG) collects and analyzes the unique specific myoelectrical signal caused by the presence of endometriosis. There were two small studies one with 25 patients and the other with 50 with good results but this is a small group. And the 25 is this likely the same group for a total of 50 patients- not 75. It misdiagnosed 2 patients who were tested negative but had positive surgical findings for endometriosis. My conclusion: would want to see more data before trying it. Final thoughts: 1. This test is not available in the US right now. 2. Let's remain curious about new technology that can help patients. 3. Let's understand risks and benefits of these tests and identify the types of patients who would benefit. 4. The current non-invasive diagnostic testing is poor so this would be an incredible improvement. 5. No screening test is perfect. There will be false positives and false negatives. 6. Don't trust influencers about your health care. Talk to your doctor about what's right for you. Published October 28, 2025

Hope they can get this going in the US (EndoTest)! Mine was diagnosed via lap in 2023 but I know there’s millions of people who are waiting for this.
