As a child who got adopted at 14 month, I have no need for my biological parents except for medical history but even so I can get that from tests at a hospital. People are always shocked when I say I don’t want to find my bio parents. Like bae? They gave me up?!

My grandma was adopted and she had the mentality of “they gave me up why would I want to know them?” When her bio brother tried to find her and have a relationship with her 😂 she’s like “jokes on them they got rid of me for being a girl when they need a boy to work the farm, but I grew bigger than any of my brothers did” she was an icon

My former landlady's adopted son did exact thing. he even went as far as insulting her and saying she is not his real mother(after graduating Uni) The biological mom chased him back to the adopted mom: my landlady refused to take him back😂😂

I don’t think it’s about that. They’re trying to connect the pieces of who they are and what made their bio parent choose not to raise them. Adoptees can struggle with feelings of shame and abandonment that has nothing to do with how well their adopted parents brought them up. It’s not so black and white.

This is one of the reasons why i couldn't adopt. The child has every right to want to search for their bio family, and they deserve adoptive parents who would fully support them in that journey. I just don't think it's sth I could handle.

I feel like parents who adopt out their children should write a letter that the adoptive parents can give to the person when they are older, just a letter saying whether they would want to see the child later on or not, why they choose to give up the baby, ect, just a completely honest letter even if it says I have no regrets and no desire to see you.
